Upward and Downward Dog Poses


Healing the body:
Upward Dog Pose: Lying on your stomach , bring your hands under your shoulders (palms pressed to the floor). Inhale deeply and glide the upper body off the floor reaching to the sky, pressing your palms down. Open the 5th chakra and stretch the face towards the sky. Open your chest healing your heart space. Relax the shoulders down slightly and breathe into the pose.
Downward Dog Pose: There are many poses you can glide from into downward dog. This variation will be from updog.... slowly glide the body down into a push up (plank) position. Hold and bring the hips up to the sky arching the body, bringing feet flat to the floor and legs are straight. This may be hard at first but by releasing the knees gently it will warm up the ankles. Slowly drop the shoulders into the body and stretch the upper back. Balance your weight between feet and hands. Breathe.....
